When you don't know the end in mind, you will get buried in the rubbish of your Temple.
What
Freemasonry offers to every Brother who completes the Work of the First
Three Degrees and who desires further Light is a means to obtain it.
Sprinkled
throughout Ritual are direct References and Allusions to well-known
Philosophical and Theological texts, all kept distant from them by their untempered hearts and minds.
Ritual's purpose is to cultivate
within receptive men both a never-ending hunger for Light external to
Ritual and a manageable means of obtaining it.
Those men who cannot see
this, due to their choices to keep their Temples incomplete, are incapable of seeing much more.
However, once
their Foundations are Firm and their Houses not made with Hands are Built, it
would be foolish not to apply lavishly the Masterful Perceptions that have been Ordained!
Ruffians will make every effort to steal Masterful skills, never realizing that such things can never be obtained by theft. Their very efforts build nothing more than piles of rubbish where their Temples should firmly stand, killing and burying the very Beauty they claim they desire. Had they completed their Temples, they would have realized their foolishness.
It is only after such men have...
- - cultivated their Hearts to Ask what true Value is
- - shaped their Minds to Seek it
- - and who have been found worthy ...
...that they will actually Find it.
The process is clearly laid out for all who desire Mastery and whose passions direct them to build a Temple rarely built.
When all this remains unfinished, and you don't know the end in mind, you will get buried in the rubbish of your Temple.
