-------------- TWO TYPES --------------
-------------- COACH'S CHALLENGE --------------
Stepping toward Mastery: Drawing Distinctions
Drawing Distinctions is an art and science. This is blatantly put forth before Freemasons within the staircase lecture.
Unfortunately, it is so blatant that most do not even realize this is pointed out to them.
Members who do not realize this may attain the highest distinctions within the Craft and still fail to cultivate the very things that differentiate them from the most common of Profane.
Should you dare to take the first steps in your journey as a Mason, and not just a Freemason, examine openly the words "Religion" and "Religious".
Challenge yourself to see the similarities and differences between what they communicate and why they are used the way they are used.
Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric will come into play if you engage your quest in truth and in earnest.
It is only through your seeking Light, exploring distinctions and great contemplation that you'll come to realize that the concepts behind these two terms reveal that they are two different creatures that breathe out their unique intentions in ways that only a masterful heart and mind can grasp.
Furthermore, it is only when you take upon yourself this great and important undertaking that you will know that Freemasonry is not a Religion; it is a Religious organization. You'll also know why there is but one Religious requirement for joining Mainstream Freemasonry -- a "Belief in God."
Unfortunately, when you refuse the challenge to your growth as a Mason, you'll enmesh the two, you'll con-fuse one with the other, and you'll contribute to the ignorance of humanity.
When you dare to be Masterful, you'll take upon yourself the responsibility to grow beyond what you thought to be true. You'll dare to challenge the status quo of your beliefs. You'll implement a construction within yourself that defies what others settle for. You'll accept that you will no longer buy into the mundane platitudes that rest upon mediocrity. You'll grow beyond the pablum society offers and learn to prepare and nurture yourself with the Meals of Masters and with Masters.
Are you up for the challenge? Prove it!

-------------- THE POINT(S)! --------------
The Points of the Compasses Represent the Work Goals of the 1st and 2nd Degree -- the Cultivation of the Heart and the Head respectively.
Examining these two specific Target Goals as Alluded to within the first two Degrees brings to Light why each Point moves for a Brother (from the Below to the Above) once the Foundational Work of each Degree is supposedly Completed.
A Brother's Raised Point indicates a Foundational Cultivation has occurred, Raising it above Physical governance (Below) and into Spiritual governance (Above).
If you have not yet started the Cultivation Work yourself, you might want to ask what's the Point of your membership? Better yet, ask what it would take for you to Raise a Point?
