Random Building Thoughts - 2021-08-19

-------------- HUMOR --------------

(Hat Tip to Bro. Joey Davis)

 -------------- IMAGINE HOW! --------------

Always Imagine How You Can Do Better!
Train Yourself to Have These Thoughts.
Beating Yourself Up
Teaches You Nothing!

  -------------- ATTRITION --------------

 Candidates remain misfocused and mismotivated
because they have no clue
what they truly want to achieve.
Don't fault Coaches and Mentors
for the Quality of Desire in these Candidates.
Fault the Candidates for choosing poorly
 those whom guide them
and for placing Trust in Conductors
whose Track Records show
 no true Transformation toward Betterment.

There should be no wonder whatsoever
in the mind of those questioning the reduced Craft numbers.
These Candidates disappear from the Craft
once their Superficial Training has ceased;
there's no Transformative prospects for them
on the Craft horizon and they know it.
If you want to change this dynamic,
change yourself toward the Better!
Give them a Craft Role Model
 that provokes them
 toward True Betterment.

-------------- TRAINING --------------

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR CANDIDATE
at a lodge near you

(I can imagine a good sequel to this!)

-------------- PREPARE! --------------

Climbing Efforts are Always Hindered
by any Lack of Preparation.
When you Want Intellectual Height,
Be Prepared to Climb to Raise Yourself!

-------------- UNTIL... --------------

The average Brother
is too Burdened by life
to truly focus upon Improving his condition.
The average Burdened condition
 of a Brother's life
is caused by his not taking the time
to Improve.
Nothing changes in this Brother's life
until he either forces his improvement
or improves his enforcement.

-------------- PASSION --------------

A Brother Asks: We've been told that we are supposed
to circumscribe our passions.
What specifically should be the radius of a Brother's Passion?

Coach:
That's a great question.
How would you define "Passion"?

-------------- MYTH --------------

“If what you are following,
however, is your own true adventure,
if it is something appropriate to your deep spiritual need or readiness,
then magical guides will appear to help you.
If you say, 'Everyone’s going on this trip this year,
and I’m going too,' then no guides will appear.
Your adventure has to be
coming right out of your own interior.
If you are ready for it,
then doors will open where there were no doors before,
and where there would not be doors for anyone else.
And you must have courage.
 It’s the call to adventure,
which means there is no security,
no rules.”
-- Joseph Campbell,
 from "A Joseph Campbell Companion:
Reflections on the Art of Living"

Be ready for it!

-------------- GOOD COACHING --------------

Rubbish tends to Build up high in Temples
filled with Darkness.
In those Temples filled with Light,
expect to find heaps of Love.

-------------- GREAT MEMORIES! --------------

 Book Review: The Craft UNMASKED!
The uncommon origin of FREEMASONRY
and its PRACTICE
by Brother John S. Nagy

Whether you are a
Grand Master, Mason, Freemason or stonecutter
this work is a must read now proposition.
No other writing from any previous period in history
comes close to defining Freemasonry so completely
whilst also de-cloaking the process for the aspiring Freemason,
Waking up the Journeymen
and offering the Society
as a whole a marvellous opportunity to expand its membership.
Nagy has done the hard yards
in explaining the origins of the Freemasonic Drama,
identified the first Freemason
and uncovered the lost word.
This is the best book I have read in 30 years.
Highly recommended.
-- Bro. Stephen Rowlison,
Master Mason. August 19, 2015
