Random Building Thoughts - 2021-07-31

-------------- HUMOR --------------

You'd think that after candidates
 got through studying Rhetoric,
we'd see a whole generation of Freemasons
with a healthy, active and engaging
sense of humor...
...Oh yeah,
no one's required to do that...
...never mind.

-------------------------------

Does this Membership
Make me Look Frat?

-------------- CHARACTER --------------

"Do not seek something better,
become something better
and all you seek shall be before you."
-- Brother Tom Rivera

-------------- CHALLENGE --------------

When you observe your Brothers' lives,
you'll have enough reassurance
to know that there's no need
to criminalize Masonic Ignorance.
The Natural Consequences
are Punishment enough.

-------------- TRAIN TO THINK!!! --------------

Masons know this
and their very being supports this statement.
Sadly,
there are far too many Freemasons
who will argue counter to this
and to the point of nausea.

-------------- KNOW! --------------

-------------- CHOICE! --------------

How they Guide you
is still your Choice.

-------------- ALLEGORY--------------

DESTINY or SELF SABOTAGE?!

When you know that you have your head up in a dark place,
and you realize deep down that this is causing
both your dark outlook
and your dark behavior,
and you refuse to go through the painful process
of doing an obviously much needed head extraction,
Then you have chosen darkness,
and you have also chosen to be
a slave to it.

-------------- ADVICE! --------------

WAIT!!!! It's really "OKAY" to do this?
(Hat tip to Bro. Rich Fredrickson)

-------------- ALLEGORY --------------

Allegories are based upon Metaphor. All Myths are built up of metaphors and lend themselves to Allegory. Like novels, they can be associated with factual history, but they themselves are not historically factual. Myths are not intended to be taken as fact or as history. They are intended to communicate truths and their meaning is understood only at the level of the person receiving them. However, Myths themselves are not truth.

Woe to all who take them as factual or historical statements. They are blind to the Light of Wisdom and the Truth that they offer.

And woe to those caught up in exchanges with such individuals who either accept Myths as either lies or facts for they are dealing with beings deeply steeped in fallacies and unfounded assumptions.

-------------- CHARACTER --------------

 AMEN!

-------------- MYTH --------------

"The symbology of religion is,
in many of its most essential elements,
common to the whole of the human race;
so that, no matter to what religion you may turn,
you will––if you look long enough––
find a precise and often illuminating counterpart
to whatever motif of your own tradition
you may wish to have explained.

Consequently,
the reference of these symbols
must be to something that is
antecedent to any historical events
to which they may have become locally applied.

Mythological symbols come from the psyche
and speak to the psyche;
they do not spring from or refer to historical events.

They are not to be read
as newspaper reports of things that,
once upon a time, actually happened."
-- Joseph Campbell,
"The Interpretation of Symbolic Forms,"
The Mythic Dimension, p. 198

Yep... The same goes for other types of non-religious Rituals,
but don't let this secret be known
or you might just be done in
and someone might start a religion
based upon your letting it be known.

Of course,
most of the followers won't pay any attention
to what you let be known
for they'll be too busy worshiping you.

-------------- NOT ALONE! --------------

You Joined the Gentle Craft
to Use Your Mind Better
but Found it Infested with Ruffians
Who Attack and Bully You
For Daring to do just that...

No! You're not Alone in this.

-------------- SMOTE!?!? --------------

-------------- NEVER SURRENDER! --------------

-------------- WISH! --------------

For those NON-Freemasons who truly wish...

1) to Enter into the Freemasonic Society,
2) to do so with your Eyes Wide Open, and
3) Without Spoiling the Fun,

..."The Craft Unmasked!" is perhaps one of the best books 1) on what to Expect and 2) that can Provide you an Inoculation against some of the most Typical Disappointments and Disillusionments Experienced by those who Entered Unprepared.

Should you want to Make the Most out of your Experience, read it BEFORE you Join.
For those Members who have always wondered why so much of Freemasonry Doesn't Make Sense and what you can do to help Maximize your Participation and your Benefits, here's your chance to get Light that should have been provided to you BEFORE you joined.

And "Yes", I AM the Author!

"The Craft Unmasked! The Uncommon Origin of Freemasonry and its Practice."

Random Building Thoughts - 2021-07-30

-------------- HUMOR --------------

It is clear that
without a Firm Foundation
of the Seven Liberal Arts & Sciences,
Allegory, Tropes, Schemes & Metaphor are at best
only Superficially Recognized & Understood,
and are more likely
misunderstood, unrecognized
and profoundly misleading
 as something utterly different.

-------------- THE MASTER'S WORD --------------

The Study of the Seven Liberal Arts and Sciences
provides students with the opportunity
to Learn how to Learn.

 In addition,
it provides opportunity for the student
to foster an independent ability
to teach themselves.

The Subject matter too is of great importance.
The main thrust of the two main focuses,
symbols as they appear
as Words and as Numbers,
is to foster abilities to communicate Recognition and Understanding.

Ultimately,
these studies lead Students to be capable
of delving into God's Creation,
Recognizing, Understanding and Interacting
with It at levels most people cannot even begin to imagine.

No true study of Theology and Philosophy
can be undertaken
without a Strongly Established Foundation
of Hearts and Minds Cultivated
to Receive what God Reveals.

-------------- CHARACTER --------------

-------------- CHALLENGE --------------

COACH'S CHALLENGE:

This one is focusing upon the OT & NT in regards to coming back to life.

When asked, "how many biblical people rose from the dead?" I was able to recall two immediately, Jesus and Lazarus. Then I remembered two more from my readings when asked, "Are you sure?", think "Widow's & woman's sons."

I was curious if there were more "incidents", so I explored further and found that there are at least 10 incidents reported or referred to within the NT & OT were people were brought back from the dead, of which more than 10 individuals rose from the dead.

Can you name them all? How's your answer shoring up? Can you recall them all without looking them up?

Let me know how close you come to the 10 "incidents" and doing so without external support.

Enjoy the head scratching!

-------------- RUFFIAN --------------

-------------- WELL? --------------

What are you doing with His Light?
(Inquiring minds want to know!)

-------------- ASPIRE! --------------

Don't Let
the Warm Fires of Complacency
Consume Your Potential!

-------------- ROCK BOTTOM!!! --------------

It is Only at Rock Bottom
Where your True Foundation is Laid.
Reach it Before you Build.

  -------------- A TOAST --------------

To the Ruffians and the Parroters,
And the Cowans who Make no Cement,
 Add the Ring-Wearers and Title-Bearers,
and may none of us ever Lament.

-------------- CHOICE! --------------

Yep!
It's an inside out job for sure!
Happiness is a CHOICE!

-------------- DON'T STOP! --------------

Be Unstoppable
for all the Right Reasons!

-------------- LOOK INSIDE! --------------

-------------- MYTH --------------

"The function of art is to carry us beyond speech to experience."
