There was a time when Brothers came together to form Lodges
because there was
Work to be done that would leave the world a better place.
They were
paid by benefactors outside the Lodge for such Work
and when either the
funding or Work ended,
these Brothers simply disassembled the Lodge
and
Traveled on.
Sadly,
today’s Brothers pay for the right to do very little
Work
which rarely leaves the world a better place
and they continue to
pay to maintain Lodges
that have long ceased to provide anything
other
than a footnote of marginal attendance for business
that contributes
questionable value.
Attrition and apathy are symptoms of today's
reality.
To end both symptoms requires meaningful Work!
What meaningful Work does your Lodge do,
other than making more members?
