Random Building Thoughts - 2021-08-27

-------------- HUMOR --------------

(Hat Tip to Bro. Joshua Huckabee!)

-------------- CHALLENGE --------------

"You can't go back
and change the beginning,
but you can start where you are
 and change the ending."
— C. S. Lewis

-------------- HOW TO PROCEED... --------------

We may never see eye to eye
on some things
and I'm okay with this.
We shall remain connected
as long as you don't insist
that I suffer for your discomforts.

However,
if I post anything that you don't like
and you respond to the point
where you want something from me
so much that you're willing to make me suffer
till I give in to your demands,
your connection to me has become a vice
and it will be divested soon thereafter.

As always,
your behaviors will let me know
how you wish things to proceed.

 -------------- FROCKING RITE? --------------

What Makes it
a Frocking Rite?

-------------- LIGHT THEM UP! --------------

Light Another's Path
and you'll Light your own!
Light Many Paths
and yours shall be Brighter.

-------------- MYTH BUSTED --------------

The More You Know...

BUSTED!

The word "Accepted" meant "Entered; Initiated; Made
-- into the Organization of Masons as a member only"
(as in "to join the Masonic Organization
 and become a member only, not a Lodge member");
it was only taken to mean "Speculative"
around 1717 when members unknowing redefined it
trying to explain something they did not understand.
(Not to be confused with the word "Admitted"
which means "to join a Lodge",
a totally different action at that time.)
This is well-documented
and yet the ill-informed myth
conjured by ignorant conjecture
on the part of uneducated Brothers continues.

For Further Light: ACCEPTED

(For Further Light on this subject,
read "Building Free Men - Volume 8
of the Building Better Builders Series
of Uncommon Masonic Education Books
found here:
of which I authored.)

-------------- COMPENSATION --------------

-------------- THAT LOOK!  --------------

 No Country for Old Masters
That look
only a Past Master can give
Found ALWAYS at a Lodge near you

-------------- MYTH --------------

"I have a firm belief in this now,
not only in terms of my own experience,
but in knowing the experiences of other people.
 When you follow your bliss,
and by bliss I mean the deep sense of being in it,
and doing what the push is out of your own existence
—it may not be fun,
but it’s your bliss
and there’s bliss behind pain too.

"You follow that
and doors will open where there were no doors before,
where you would not have thought there’d be doors,
and where there wouldn’t be a door for anybody else.

"... And so I think the best thing
I can say is to follow your bliss.
If your bliss is just your fun
and your excitement, you’re on the wrong track.
I mean, you need instruction.
Know where your bliss is.
And that involves coming down
to a deep place in yourself."
-- Joseph Campbell,
"The Hero’s Journey"

-------------- MASTER BASIN! --------------

-------------- ANOTHER WORKING TOOL! --------------

 Self-Reflection
 is a Working Tool
available to all Brothers,
at all Levels.

-------------- EXPOSURE --------------

"Never underestimate the ability
 of your supposedly intelligent acquaintances
to expose the nastiness
 in their souls."

-------------- WHAT GOES AROUND --------------

When you blatantly disrespect history,
you teach all those who follow
to disrespect what you do now.

-------------- GOAT! --------------

I: Why did I join the Craft?
R: Simple! They Got My Goat!
