Random Building Thoughts - 2024-03-08

 -------------- TENETS! --------------

"If, anywhere, brethren of a particular religious belief
have been excluded from this Degree
[18° Knight Rose Croix],
it merely shows how gravely the purposes
and plan of Masonry may be misunderstood.
For whenever the door of any Degree
is closed against him who believes in one God
and the soul's immortality,
on account of the other tenets of his faith,
that Degree is Masonry no longer."
-- Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma

(I Agree!)

-------------- MASONIC EDUCATION --------------

For Further Light:
The Letter "G"

-------------- HUMOR --------------

Research well-enough
to be known to be an expert
by your peers
and a nut
by those who could not possible understand,
but first make sure
your peers are not nuts!

How do you know
your peers are not nuts?

RESEARCH!!!!!

-------------- PHYSICS! --------------

Come on now
and try to be serious,
if you can.

Did you really expect
your metaphysical banter
to have any credibility whatsoever
when you have blatantly
dismissed your physics study?

  -------------- METAPHYSICS! --------------

What Compromises Metaphysics?

Connect the dots!

- Without Physics Foundations, Metaphysical understandings are unfounded.
- Without Astronomic Foundations, Physics understandings are unfounded.
- Without Geometric & Music Foundations, Astronomic understandings are unfounded.
- Without Arithmetic Foundations, Geometric & Music understandings are unfounded.
- Without Trivium Foundations, Arithmetic understandings are unfounded.
- Without Self-knowledge Foundations, Grammatical, Logical & Rhetorical
      understandings are unfounded.
- Without Virtue Foundations, Self-knowledge is unfounded.
- Without Plumb Foundations, Virtue is unfounded.
- Without Good Foundations, Plumbs are unfounded.
- Without Truth Foundations, Good is unfounded.
- Without Light Foundations, Truth is unfounded.
- Without Logos Foundations, Light is unfounded.

What Compromises Metaphysics?

A Compromised Foundation.

  -------------- PSA --------------

If Hiram's story doesn't tell you anything
other than "thinking causes head aches",
then you received a very important message.

 -------------- MYTH --------------

"In my writing
and my thinking
and my work
 I’ve thought of myself
as addressing artists
and poets and writers.
The rest of the world
can take it or leave it
as far as I’m concerned."
-- Joseph Campbell,
A Fire in the Mind, p. 556

 -------------- BE BETTER! --------------

Betterment demands Better Action;
Better Action demands Better Desire;
Better Desires demands Better Thought;
Better Thought demands Better Being;
Better Being demands Betterment.

 -------------- BE EXTREMELY GOOD! --------------

Yep. And I will add,
fully capable of rendering
unadulterated evil, but chooses not to.

  -------------- PREPARE! --------------

That Sinking Feeling?

That's Your
Poorly Prepared Foundation
Screaming at you.

  -------------- DIVEST! --------------

 -------------- PAREIDOLIA --------------

Pareidolia has kept
far too many Brothers busy chasing imagined Rabbits
than it has fed starving multitudes.
Had each member simply done the Work
designed to Effectively Deal with
its ever-present influence,
they may have actually prepared
a Banquette filled with Significant Nutrition.

  -------------- UNDERSTAND! --------------

To use either Apprentice Working Tool,
you must Firmly Establish
 a Specific Understanding
or both are Profoundly Useless
and Most Possibly Destructive.
Seek to Know the Foundation
that each needs for Effective Use
and you shall Transform your World.
Apply them without this Foundation
and you may well destroy it.

What is this Crucial Understanding?
