Random Building Thoughts - 2024-03-13

   -------------- LISTEN! --------------

When you find yourself once again
face down on the floor,
perhaps it's God's firm way of saying to you,
"I'm not kidding around with you.
It's time that you take a good look
at your foundation."

 -------------- MASONIC EDUCATION --------------

  -------------- EXPERIENCE! --------------

Going through the Motions
is Merely an Introduction.
Until you have Actually
Lived through Ruffian Assaults,
you shall have only Clues
as to How They Truly Affect your Life.

For Further Light:

 -------------- INTENT! --------------

The Intent of a man is usually shown
by what he does with the flaws he perceives in others.
When he uses them to Dismiss others and their overall works,
his Intentions have no good.
When he uses them to Encourage others toward Betterment,
his Intentions are good.
Pay close and careful attention to a man's Intentions
for they shall both Portray
and Betray his Heart.

-------------- RHETORIC! --------------

"Build a man a fire,
and he'll be warm for a day.
Set a man on fire,
and he'll be warm for
the rest of his life."

-- Terry Pratchett (1948-2015)

  -------------- PSA --------------

Come on now and try to be serious, if you can.
Did you really expect your metaphysical banter
to have any credibility whatsoever
when you have blatantly dismissed
your physics studies?

Without the completed study of
the seven liberal arts and sciences,
your metaphysical pursuits are unfounded.

  -------------- MYTH --------------

"You don't ask what a dance means.
You enjoy it.
You don't ask what the world means.
You enjoy it.
You don't ask what you mean.
You enjoy it."
-- Joseph Campbell,
The Collected Lectures of Joseph
Campbell Series I, Volume 2, Lecture 3:
"Confrontation of East and West in Religion"

...and if you are so inspired,
you get to wear silly hats too!

  -------------- COACH'S CHALLENGE! --------------

A Brother Asks:

In most US jurisdictions
the two great pillars are on the sides
of the Senior Warden station,
European jurisdictions place them on the master station
and the lodge that meets
at the George Washington Memorial
has them on the Junior Warden station.

Why is that?

 -------------- TRUTH! --------------

 For Further Light:
Truth!

 -------------- APPEARANCE --------------

  -------------- GREAT MEMORIES! --------------

The Ruffian's use of the Setting Mauls
are ideal examples of intemperance,
imprudence, injustice, weakness, despair,
 faithlessness, & apathy at play.
