This is a private message from someone who took precious moments out of his busy day to inform me that he has unfollowed (CENSORED!) me, for what he "perceived" to be a prelude to censorship on my part: 

 

"just unfollowed you...seems you're against free speach [SIC]...very disappointing from someone of your 'stature' "

 

My Response (having NO CLUE as to what he was complaining about): What the heck are you talking about?

 

Facebooger's non-response:  <silence...>

 

<how insane is that?>

 

"Behold how good and pleasant it is when Faceboogers take pot shots at their delusions and then take out the rubbish for you using the very behavior that they accuse you of..."

(I suspect his back channel booger fit was due to him:

1) babbling and ranting about something that had NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the original post,
2) being confronted with his hi-jacking efforts,
AND
3) getting upset and offended when he was asked to respect and abide by the wall rules.

No great loss, but a great example of ironic hypocrisy none-the-less.)

The Map is not the Territory!

 

I have no doubt that there are Religions created for the sole purpose of mass-control. I also know that there exist Religions that could not care less about mass-control and focus strictly upon self-control. 

 

It pains me to hear how biased some viewpoints are toward the former and in not seeing the latter or an obstinate refusal to acknowledge the latter even though the evidence is clearly before them. 

 

Religions are Maps of spiritual experiences within specific territories; typically the experiences of others conveyed as paths both taken and to follow too if one so chooses. 

 

They are all but starting points. 

 

I've found many of these maps to be in error with what I've experienced of the Territories I've traveled and explored. 

 

I don't blame the map-maker. I merely correct the Map and move on. 

 

Those who blindly accept Maps as inerrant and refuse to see the Territory before them in any other way than in what they think that their Map Instructs them, Worship their interpretation of the Map and turn a blind eye to the Territory. 

 

All Maps are personal. They need to reflect the experiences of the souls using them; not the souls who have passed them down.

RIP My Dear Friend & Bro. Luther "Chop" Bodiford

  

Jubalum has finally laid down our dearly loved Brother Luther "Chop" Bodiford early this morning. 

 

For those who knew Brother Chop, he had circumambulated around our worldly third degree floor, dealing so exceedingly well with the demands of time, virtue, and completion, that he brushed off these three ruffians his first eight times around. We were all certainly surprised with his innate ability to shrug off these ruffians every time, that we took it on faith and for granted that there was a Godly reason Chop remained with us after each go around.

Alas, on his ninth time around this worldly arena, he was met with a striking blow that he could not shrug off.

This morning Brother Chop's pillar was finally cracked in two. His fractured pillar has left a huge hole in Tallahassee's Freemasonic community. This hole is so deep and so wide that it will take at least five Brothers to fill.

When I think of Freemasonry in North-West Florida, Brother Chop was the first caring soul that comes to my heart and mind. 

 

Brother Chop's love of the Fraternity and our Brothers was overwhelmingly vast. Any effort to convey it in words will fall so short, that to even begin to express it would not do any justice or good service to it.  Those who knew him will agree. So, I will leave it unsaid. 

Chop....my dear friend & brother... you inspired me to show up, question, research, write, publish, share, care, engage, be there for our fellow Masons, and even willingly & courageously face our Fraternal Ruffians, daily. I sincerely believe that you are still poking me with that sharp trowel of encouragement to show up and do what needs to be done to assist our Brothers toward Masonry. 

 

Your presence in my life is still felt, and your love as well.

I pray that you find your place among heavenly offices, willingly serve our angelic Brothers, and push the limits of Brotherly Love & Affection there as you did here.

Rest in peace, my dear friend. You have certainly earned it nine times over.

A Brother Asks: How does mastering ritual make good men better?

Response: It doesn't. It no more makes good men better than mastering any other map.

 

It is only by recognizing, understanding and applying it toward the territory it represents that you become better, and only if you do so with the intent and methods of betterment. Otherwise, it just sits on the bookshelf of your mind, collecting dust, being eaten by the mind's silverfish or worse, rotting.

Pointing to it, pulling it out and waving it in the faces of others, or worse, boasting about how well you have preserved it without using it to travel within its alluded to territory, is the ultimate insult to its creation.

Ritual Mastery does not make you Better; Suitably and Appropriately Applying it toward your life does.

 
IN OTHER WORDS: There Is No Transformation for The Better Without Work That Transforms for The Better! Mastering Ritual is only Installing the Map, but is it not the Work that Occurs to Follow It!!

 

Additionally, one cannot make another one better. All one can do is lead by example. The other must co-operate with what is offered in a self-changing way to have any change occur. It is insane to think one can change another. Freemasonry doesn't make good men better. 

 

It is only the individual who consistently applies Masonic Principles that improves. 

 

It's called, "Self-improvement" for a reason!
