-------------- COACH'S CHALLENGE --------------

As anticipated, your Candidates are curious once again. They tell you that they keep on hearing this phrase, "Masonry makes good men better". They would like to know more about it and how it applied to them being considered for each degree.

Their main questions have to do with the meaning and respective application behind the word, "good".

They want to know:

1) What does the word, "good", means from the view point of the Fraternity?

2) What exactly is a "good man"?

3) What qualities are associated with being "good"?

4) How did the Fraternity determine that they were "good"?

You, being very accommodating and having many years experience in dealing with Candidates, decide that this is too important a query for just yourself to address. You bring this issue to the Education Committee. To your surprise, they ask you to write out your responses to all the candidates' questions.

They expect your tasks to be done with 24 hours. You agree and get to work immediately.

YOUR TASKS:

1) Respond in writing to all their questions without quoting any sources. You may refer to other sources, but you must explain in your own words why you are referring to them and what they mean to you. Additionally, no referred to source can answer the question. You must answer each one in your own words.

2) Anticipate and write out any associated questions they might have and write out your responses to them as well and as constrained by the guidelines in TASK 1.

3) Stay within the guidelines so stated. Any dismissal or deviation from the tasks will bring great disgrace upon your Freemasonic record.
