(As an aside,

it's utterly amazing,

but not surprising,

how some members fixate

upon the square and compasses

appearing on a can associated with alcohol

rather than the blatant message in fine print

intended to drive home the point that

it is NOT the real thing,

just because a symbol appears on something.

These mental exercises

in the form of memes

are designed to provide

opportunity to members

to think outside the box

of indoctrination

that prevents them from seeing

what Masonry truly has to offer.

Masonry is not about meeting minutes,

treasurer's reports, and arguing about

dues and how someone did it in their year...

or a square & compasses on a beer can!

It's about getting past the veil of ignorance

and seeing what's on the other side!)

Freemasonry

is designed and implemented

to attract Good men to Masonry.

What they do with Masonry

once they find It

is entirely up to them.

QUESTION: What is the number one challenge facing Freemasonry in the 21st century?

ANSWER: Re-Establishing a Quality Control System that actually does Make Good Men Better and then Maintaining that System at High Levels into the future.

REASONING: Without such a system, Freemasonry will forever be less than it could be and, as a result, will never live up to the expectations of those who join.

PROBLEM:

Current no betterment momentum
Current no well-entrenched supportive betterment attitudes or betterment supportive systems
Currently no standardized betterment curriculum, betterment direction, or betterment leadership
Currently no betterment understanding of or for betterment educational needs

CHALLENGE:

How would your lodge define "betterment" as applied to "making good men better?"
How would you implement a system-wide program to assure that what your lodge offers actually does improve those members who join your ranks?
How would you go about getting "buy in" from your lodge to assure this system was supported?
