Freemasonry offers to candidates three maps
that can help every one of them become a Better Man.
It is ENTIRELY up to them though to learn
how to read and follow these maps.
Freemasonry rightfully assumes that each
is mature enough to do just this.
When they are not mature enough,
they shall find the organization fundamentally unfulfilling.
Freemasonry is the ultimate "Self-Help" organization,
as in, each Candidate must HELP THEMSELVES because,
when things are working correctly,
no one within the organization is gonna do it for them!

Some of those shadows are man-made...
-------------- CHARACTER --------------
Don't fool yourself into thinking that Masonic Travel is physical! Masonic Travel is the Journey men must make toward Mastery. Memorization is but the first step toward becoming Better Men. Memorization is only the internalization of Ritual Maps.
This effort only allows for immediate access to important information
during Travels. Those Brothers who earnestly and sincerely make every
effort to Recognize, Understand and Follow the Three Ritual Maps
provided to them by Blue Lodge Ritual are already Better men for making
such effort.
When they Travel well, they eventually become Masterfully Better!
It is unbelievably sad that so many men stop at the first step.
-------------- MYTH --------------
This is an absolute necessity for anybody today:
you must have a room,
or a certain hour or so a day,
where you don’t know
what was in the
newspapers this morning,
you don’t know who your friends are,
you don’t
know what you owe anybody,
you don’t know what anybody owes you.
This is
a place where you can simply experience
and bring forth what you are
and what you might be.
This is the place of creative incubation.
At
first you might find that nothing happens there.
But if you have a
sacred place and use it,
something eventually will happen.
-------------- EXPECTANCIES --------------
Don't
expect any organization to improve you.
Be seriously suspicious of any
man
who would hold such expectations.
Improvement is for you to do on
your own,
with God's help.
That help has an uncanny way of coming
by way
of your Brothers
who are earnestly working to improve
their Ashlars as
well.
-------------- MASTERY --------------
Betterment Requires Consistent Results That Are Better Than Before
-------------- DO THE MATH... --------------
If
Cowans are Masons without the Master's Word,
And Blue Lodge Master
Masons are Provided only a Substitute,
Then what does that Make These
Master Masons?

They need no leader to do this.
The direction
provided by their guts
tells them all they need to know.
